About Choregus
Productions
History
In classicalGreece, a
choregus was a citizen who arranged for the chorus in
the dramatic competitions and was generally responsible for
the production of the plays. Much of what we see in
today's drama, music, and dance performances can be traced
back to ancient Greece.

Ken Tracy established Choregus
Productions, LLC
in 2006 to continue the tradition, dating back to
classical Greece, of citizen
involvement in the performing arts. Choregus was founded
to present outstanding performing arts productions that
otherwise might not appear on Tulsastages.
While the quality of the production
and entertainment value are always paramount considerations,
Choregus looks for opportunities to present arts programming
that goes beyond what other organizations are
presenting. By
working independently of organizations with specific mandates
and artistic visions, Choregus can present performances that
fall outside of preconceived, fixed, programming models.
The company seeks to bridge the gap
between popular culture and the classical performing arts.
Choregus has a particular interest in multi-cultural
presentations, avant-garde music, cutting-edge drama, and
modern dance.
Whenever possible, educational outreach opportunities
will be available for schools and community groups wanting to
take advantage of the artists appearing in Choregus
productions.
Educational
Opportunities
Many of our
presentations have outreach and educational components.
If you are an educator or involved with a community group,
contact us concerning the availability of master classes,
daytime school performances, curriculum guides, and other
opportunities to make the performing arts a vital part of the
learning experience.
